How Much Christ is in your Christianity Part 1

Part I

Is it possible for Jesus to be lost in Christianity?

There are many bogus Christs among us today. If you follow the unbiblical Christ that is not the Christ of the gospel then your faith is in vain. If you are satisfied with an unbiblical, imaginary Savior, then I hope you are also satisfied with an imaginary salvation.

“The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons” (1Timothy 4:1-2 NIV).

“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel —  which is really no gospel at all” (Galatians 1:6-7 NIV).

Christ is missing from your Christianity if the gospel has been twisted. Remember Satan mixes 2% or more of lies to 98% truth to corrupt the truth and make it a complete lie. This  has been Satan’s tactic from the garden when he misquoted God to Eve. Your Christianity rooted in Christ must preach and adhere to the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

Definition of the gospel – the teaching or revelation of Jesus Christ.

  • The gospel is, broadly speaking, the whole of Scripture; more narrowly, the gospel is the good news concerning Christ and the way of salvation. The key to understanding the gospel is to know why it’s good news.
  • The gospel involves Jesus’ death on the cross as the sin offering to fulfill the Law’s righteous requirement (Romans 8:3–4Hebrews 10:5–10).
  • The gospel also involves Jesus’ resurrection on the third day(Romans 4:25).
  • The gospel is the good news that God loves the world enough to give His only Son to die for our sin (John 3:16).
  • The gospel is good news because our salvation and eternal life and home in heaven are guaranteed through Christ (John 14:1–4).
  • The gospel is good news when we understand that we do not (and cannot) earn our salvation; the work of redemptionand justification is complete, having been finished on the cross (John 19:30).

Attributes of the gospel:

  • The gospel of Jesus Christ is a gospel of the cross and self-denial.
  • The gospel teaches that the church is a place of repentance.
  • The gospel preaches about the cross and the power of the blood.
  • The gospel of Jesus can be very offensive at times as it challenges the flesh.
  • The gospel of Jesus Christ balances holiness and love.

When the teachings of Jesus are twisted the Bible considers it a false gospel and it is called the doctrine of demons taught by deceiving spirits. The Bible warns us of a false gospels, teachers, prophets, and false Christs. Be diligent to test the spirits and know your Word so that you can discern truth from twisting. Stand firmly in that which you have received and do not waver. Be light and salt to a dying world. Represent Christ and hold firmly to the true gospel until He returns.
