Fulfilling the Plan: Part 2 Exchanging the Limited for the Limitless

As a counselor I teach biblical tools to transform your life. I urge you to apply spiritual truths into your daily thoughts, speech patterns and behaviors. Live just a little bit more in line with God’s Word every day.

God longs for you to draw near to Him. You have a choice hour by hour, day by day, and year by year. You do not have to repeat the same patterns or behaviors you can walk into newness of life and be transformed everyday into His image. It is time to walk beyond the natural into the supernatural with God into healing, wholeness, freedom, and power. Make the choice, and take the steps one day, and one year at a time.

The Bible tells us in Psalms 90:12, “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

To number your days literally means “to make you know.” It means to appreciate the shortness of your days, to understand your own frailty and choose to live for eternity, acquainting yourself with God, drawing into deep relationship with Him to reign with Him eternally. It urges you to understand the importance of this knowledge, which is to be learned only from God and not through any natural ability.

We see that Paul purposed and planned each of his days. He did this through the Spirit of God directed by God’s presence.

“When these things were accomplished, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, “after I’ve been there, I must also see Rome” (Acts 19:21).

Pursue the life and plan God chose for you. You just don’t stumble into being spiritually minded and pursuing that which is infinite without a willing decision to crucify the flesh.

The Bible says in Romans 8:6-8, “For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.”

The word in Hebrew for earth is eretz and it is singular and the word for heavens is shamayim and is plural. This is significant because the things in your life that are earthly are finite and limited. Everything in your physical realm is limited, and hence not worthy of your complete focus.

To move into your purpose requires you to push into the spiritual, to receive what is infinite and limitless. It is a choice everyday in your earthly realm to be filled up with the spiritual and heavenly and take it as your possession and promise. You need to not just read your Bible but study it, breathe it –as your breath is spirit – and live it in front of a dying world.

How do you do this? You do this through the cooperation with the Spirit of God. The Hebrew word for spirit is “rauch” and it means breath, wind, spirit. There are so many Scriptures helping you to see the meaning of this word. God breathed into your life, the wind of the Spirit blows through you daily as you walk with the Holy Spirit within you.

What happens when a strong wind comes against you? It can push you over, and cause everything you do to be more difficult as the drag of the wind is blowing against you. When you walk against the Holy Spirit in your thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors you are walking against the wind and it creates a drag on your life making everything difficult and exhausting. You are fighting the wind; you are fighting God.

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish” (Galatians 5:16-17).

How different is it when the wind is not against you? When you turn and allow the Spirit to push you forward you are empowered. The wind of the Spirit going with you moves you forward in the same direction and gives you strength. You move forward without the drag of opposition.  To soar in this wind you must surrender all areas in your thoughts, speech patterns, and behaviors that are against the wind of the Spirit. Make a choice to move forward fulfilling God’s plan for your life and exchange the limited for limitless.
